COMMISSIONS
I’d be very honoured to create an original piece for you.
I understand that commissioning a piece of art is a huge decision, so I really aim to make the process of working with me to create your perfect piece as easy and enjoyable as possible.
I’m sure you’ll have a lot of questions (I would too!), but here’s some initial information to read through before we connect - looking forward to it!
Step 1: Your Vision & our Initial Contact
This is the exciting part! Have a think about which of my originals really spoke to you - you probably know that already if you’re thinking about commissioning me of course - Email me at chris@chrismossart.com or complete the contact form below to let me know which of my styles and size you are looking for.
If you can refer to the name of the piece that you connected with, that’d be really helpful, along with your initial thoughts on what you would like in your bespoke piece of art.
Step 2: Discussion, Confirmation & Summary
I’ll contact you as soon as I can so we can discuss your vision and commission further. I’m happy to discuss by email, message, phone call or video call, whichever is easier and preferable to you. I’ll provide lead times & also send you a summary of what we have agreed in terms of style/colour palette, advise of the pricing and payment schedule (including shipping costs) and commit (where possible) to a date when the piece will be completed and shipped to you.
My indicative pricing schedules for canvas and paper commissions are as follows:
Canvas
Size | Price |
60x60cm | £585 - £710 |
80x80cm | £780 - £945 |
100x100cm | £975 - £1,185 |
100x120cm | £1,075 - £1,300 |
120x120cm | £1,175 - £1,420 |
150x150cm | £1,470 - £1,775 |
Paper
Size | Price |
A3 | £235 - £285 |
A2 | £385 - £465 |
A1 | £645 - £775 |
Prices for each size range due to the mediums used and timed required to create specific pieces. The Hurricane Collection, for example, uses many layers of paint, thickening medium and metallics, all of which increase the cost of these pieces.
Phantom, on the other hand, doesn’t use metallics or texturisers, so is therefore not as expensive to produce.
All prices quoted above are for unframed pieces. I can arrange for pieces to be framed (and mounted if required or desired for paper pieces) at an additional cost, which of course will add to the cost and lead time.
I ask that all Collectors pay 50% of the total cost of the piece up front to secure the order and allow me to source the required surface and mediums.
Step 3: Production
Once I have received your deposit, I will source the surface and mediums and create your piece.
I’ll keep you updated as to progress and advise of any delays that arise due to availability of products or any other extenuating circumstances.
Step 4: Preview & Sign Off
Once I have completed your commission, I’ll send you an image of the completed piece for you to approve.
If you’re happy, you’ll just need to confirm and I’ll ship the piece to you as soon as possible on receipt of the outstanding balance.
If you’d like something to be changed, get in touch with me and we’ll discuss whether this is possible or not.
Step 5: Payment in Full & Shipping
When your piece is ready and you’ve paid the outstanding balance, I’ll ship it to you as soon as possible, providing you with the tracking number.
Please note that returns will not be accepted for commissions unless the piece arrives damaged. Do get in touch with me by email at chris@chrismossart.com if this is the case.
Step 6: Sit Back & Enjoy Your Art!
This is the golden moment… the unboxing, the hanging… that moment when you fall in love with your piece. My overall aim in creating my art is to help you create a moment in your home or workplace, a daily moment of solace, introspection and empowerment for yourself as well as a statement piece to awaken your space.
Ready to take the plunge? It’s only a conversation to begin with after all…
